Laleh a toujours su qu'elle était destinée à danser. Mais issue d'une famille immigrante stricte, son parcours pour devenir ballerine a été tout sauf gracieux. Partageant son temps entre le travail et les études, elle refuse de laisser quoi que ce soit l'arrêter. Pourtant, son professeur de ballet doute qu'elle ait le potentiel nécessaire pour intégrer la Compagnie nationale de ballet.
C'est alors qu'entre en scène Al, lui faisant une proposition qui pourrait l'aider à atteindre son objectif. Pour subvenir à ses besoins, Laleh plonge dans le monde des danseuses gogo et dans la scène nocturne montréalaise. Mais très vite son passé refait surface, la forçant à affronter les sacrifices qu'elle a faits et à se demander ce vers quoi elle danse vraiment.
